For both ladies and men’s competition the same rules apply: 1) All competitors must weigh-in 2) No Compression clothing may be used 3) Training Belt can be used 4) Wrist Support & Bar Straps can be used 5) Full range of movement must complete the bench or deadlift: in the bench the bar must be locked out – touch the chest & then be locked out. The Deadlift must be taken from the floor and stood straight at the top of the lift. 6) All completed lifts are scored as a percentage of bodyweight for example a bodyweight of 80kgs lifting 160kgs = score 2:0 7) The Judge observing the lifting will indicate a clean lift to the scoring table for all lifts attempted. The judging decision is final. All lifting events will be given 4 rounds of lifting and over the 4 round the competitors highest ratio score will be taken as their ‘best score’, with the highest ratio lift winning the event. The order of lifting will be drawn at random, although should last years winner in any event chose to compete they can take the last lift if they wish. Men’s Events, due to the growing interest the men’s event will be split at 95kgs +/- at the weigh in. Therefore, the lighter weight division will compete first and then the heavy weight class respectively. |
Deadlift Rep Max
This is a test of strength & endurance. 90 seconds will be given to each competitor for a single round of lifting. Each rep of the deadlift must be stood straight and locked-out at the top. The bar must be lowered under control and not dropped, if you drop the bar your set is judged as over due to a loss of control in the technique. Taken from the weigh-in the weight for each male to lift will be set at 1.5 x bodyweight (rounded up as needed) For the ladies 1.25 x bodyweight, rounded up as appropriate for weight selection. |
